Christophe de Callatay - Philosophical paintings
Artist - Poet - Entrepreneur

My work unfolds at the intersection of three realms: painting, philosophy, and poetic imagination.
Each painting is accompanied by a short text of two or three paragraphs, designed to engage not only the viewer’s intellect, but also their sensitivity and inner spirit.
These works form a visual exploration of humanity’s great questions and contemporary challenges: civilization and chaos, spiritual quest and disenchantment, climate urgency, the fragility of democracies, and the uncertain future of humankind.
Through them unfolds a continuous humanist narrative — a story of mankind — spanning from the origins of the world to the dilemmas raised by artificial intelligence. Each painting invites the viewer to move beyond its immediate reading and enter into a deeper reflection on our condition, our origins, and our collective future.
In the work of Christophe de Callataÿ, mythology, art history, and allegory intertwine in compositions where animals and human figures coexist beneath the gaze of ancient symbols.
His paintings stem from a fundamental question: how can humanity, aware of the Earth's fragility and the climate emergency, nevertheless continue to move towards possible forms of self-destruction?
